Vakoun Bayo given Celtic transfer escape route as flop striker set to follow Patryk Klimala out the Parkhead exit door

Celtic flop Vakoun Bayo could be set for the exit dooor as Tunisian champions Esperance line up a move.

The Ivorian striker moved to Parkhead in January 2019 but made just one appearance that season.

Last term Bayo scored twice in 16 Celtic appearances but he was sent on loan to Toulouse in the summer with an option to buy.

After six goals in 26 games in Ligue 2 it's not expected the French side will sign him permanently in the summer.

However, he's is a target for African giants Esperance who have enquired about the availability of Bayo.

Bayo has experience in Tunisia already. He moved from the Ivory Coast to Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel, when he was a youngster and his form there earned him a move to Europe.

Esperance are nine points clear at the top of the Tunisian League and are desperate to win the African Champions League for a fifth time - they last won it two years ago.

Celtic could be set to ditch another unwanted player from their squad as they begin to clear the decks for the much-anticipated arrival of their new manager.

Polish striker Partryk Klimala completed a move to MLS last week, signing for New York Red Bulls.
