Vadodara: Woman accuses relative of rape

VADODARA: A woman filed a complaint of rape against her late husband’s brother at Savli police station on Tuesday. The woman told the police that the accused lured her by promising a job and raped her two days ago.

According to the police, the woman, whose husband died some time ago, works as a sanitation worker at a firm near her village at Savli. She told the cops that two days ago she was on her way to the firm in the morning. The accused met her on the road and told her about a job. He told her that she will get Rs 3,000 for the work.

The accused then took the woman to an isolated spot near Poicha village on her motorbike. The woman alleged that the accused forced himself on her. He later fled from the spot.
