VADODARA: At least four people were killed and six others suffered injuries after a blast took place at a chemical unit in the Makarpura area of the city on Friday morning.
The incident happened at the unit of Canton Laboratories Pvt Ltd located near the Vadsar railway over-bridge.
The blast was reported around 10am and its sound was heard at a long distance from the plant.
Residents of nearby areas even claimed that their homes shook due to the blast.
According to the Vadodara fire and emergency services, around 10 people were injured in the blast.
Later, four of them were declared dead.
Vadodara mayor Keyur Rokadiya, police commissioner Shamsher Singh and other senior officials rushed to the spot after the incident.
