Vaclav Hladky leads St Mirren exits as club announces 14 departures

St Mirren captain Stephen McGinn leads a list of 14 players departing the Paisley outfit at the end of their contracts.

Most of those leaving the club will have their contracts extend in the short term to allow them to be furloughed during the coronavirus crisis.

That won't be the case for star man Vaclav Hladky - who has been linked with a move to Rangers - and French winger Oan Djorkaeff who both leave immediately.

McGinn, who was named captain on his return to the club three years ago, will have his deal extended for furlough, as will Danny Mullen, Gary MacKenzie, Ross Wallace, Tony Andreu and Cody Cooke.

Youth players Conor McBrearty, Scott Glover, David Wilson, Matthew Grant, Kyle Girvan and Dominic Lavelle will also continue to be furloughed by the club.

St Mirren have offered a new contract to Ryan Flynn, although no decision has been made by the 31-year-old.

And Saints boss Jim Goodwin has heaped praise on the players leaving by saying: "It has been really difficult to have to say goodbye to these players especially in the current circumstances.

"However, the opportunity to support the players through the close season is one the club felt was important. It goes without saying that everyone at the club wishes all of them the very best for the future."
