Vaclav Hladky attracts overseas interest as St Mirren face big money bid

St Mirren are facing a fight to keep Vaclav Hladky in the January window.

Record Sport can reveal that the Buddies have been sounded out in recent days about their Czech keeper.

An overseas club have tabled an initial £200,000 proposal but the Buddies have stated they don’t want to sell – although they could well come back in.

Saints are facing a fighting for survival and would prefer to keep Hladky rather than sell him next month.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and looks set to move on at the end of the season.

Hladky arrived from Slovan Liberec last season and has established himself as one of the top keepers in the country.

Rangers have also scouted him in recent weeks but are unlikely to make a move unless they lose a goalkeeper in the summer.

Qarabag made a bid in the last window but that was also turned down.

Jim Goodwin's side are rooted to the bottom of the Premiership table but with only 11 goals in 16 games, it's their attack rather than the defence that's been the key problem for the Paisley side.
