Piers Morgan said: "What do you mean?"
Getting emotional, the vaccine minister said: "I lost my uncle to Covid last week."
Piers asked whether his uncle was eligible to receive a vaccine, with the MP revealing his uncle was sadly too late to get the vaccine, despite being eligible.
He said: "He got Covid before he got the vaccine but obviously you have to wait 28 days before someone can be vaccinated."
Piers and Susanna issued their condolences.

Piers was shocked and said: "To have an uncle who didn't get a vaccine in time to protect him... if you get that call to have that jab, get down there faster than a greyhound."
Nadhim Zahawi said: "Our way out of this is the vaccine programme."
He added: "I promise you, I will make sure that happens."
Piers and Susanna thanked the MP for sharing his sad news. After the interview finished, Piers said: "You could see, he wasn't sure whether to tell us that."
But Piers said it was important to "personalise" the effects of the deadly virus and added "the vaccine's minister has been hit by it", before urging people to comply with guidance and to get vaccinated.
Piers added: "It's a horrible killer disease."
