Ireland has hit yet another milestone in the vaccine rollout with over 2 million people here fully vaccinated.
The Taoiseach confirmed the incredible figures today that over 2 million people have been fully vaccinated while a staggering 70% of adults have received a first dose.
Paying tribute to health workers assisting in the programme he said: "Brilliant effort by all the @HSELive staff and volunteers involved in our rollout."
The vaccine rollout continues to gather huge pace as jabs are rolled out in mass vaccination centres and at pharmacies across the country.
It comes as fears grow over the resurgence of another wave of Covid-19 infections due to the Delta variant..
Meanwhile a proposal will be brought before Cabinet next Tuesday to put a plan in place to reopen indoor dining.
Speaking on Thursday Tanaiste Leo Varadkar revealed details of how the use of Covid certs may work to facilitate the reopening of the hospitality sector.
Speaking on Newstalk he said: "We would hope to be in a position to bring a proposal to Cabinet next Tuesday and that would facilitate the opening of indoor dining and other indoor activities on the lines that NPHET recommended.
"So at least initially it would be open to those who are fully vaccinated and those who have recovered from Covid in the last nine months.

"We're also looking at the issue of children because we don't want to split up families and the issue of potentially allowing people who have been tested recently."
Mr Varadkar said the government was taking a "cautious approach" that was in line with advice from public health officials.
"This may be the only we get the sector open during the Delta wave. This is the means by which we can open up even during this Delta wave and perhaps in future waves because we are in a different place now in this pandemic."
