Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson isn’t letting a surgically repaired ACL slow his roll. Instead of loafing around Los Angeles between physical therapy appointments, the shooting guard half of the Splash Brothers has packed his bags, fueled his jet and set out to see the world.
First stop, Lake Tahoe — a fresh-water lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
In summer, visitors are inclined to golf, play water sports and get healing massages. In the video posted on Twitter by Lets Go Warriors, Thompson is seen boarding his private jet with friends. After they land, he emerges happy and dancing.
Thompson and crew enter an expansive, posh-looking vacation home situated right on the lake. The person shooting the video pans up and shows the All-Star standing outside on a balcony, canoodling with (per according to Let’s Go Warriors) actress Laura Harrier.
Next stop, France.
In the second #VacayKlay video, Thompson appears to be the one holding the camera, which pans around a pristine, rocky environment. Featured in the shot are Harrier and a crystal blue lake dotted with white boats.
“Hydro therapy is a must,” Thompson’s message says.
The Warriors’ three-peat quest was thwarted when Thompson suffered a torn ACL in Golden State’s Game 6 loss in the NBA Finals. In free agency, he signed a five-year deal with the Warriors, had surgery to repair the injury and began rehab on the knee. Now, it looks like Thompson is able to enjoy some downtime.
And he can afford it — Thompson’s $190 million max deal comes with a 15% trade kicker, equaling roughly 28.5 million.
