Nottingham Forest fans didn’t hold back with their assessment of the Reds’ performance in a 5-1 FA Cup defeat at Swansea City.
The Reds were well beaten in the fourth round tie at the Liberty Stadium as they were dumped out of the competition.
They were not helped by some poor decisions from the officials, but overall, there was a big gulf between the two sides.
Anthony Knockaert pulled one back for the visitors early in the second half, but hopes of a comeback were short lived.
Liam Cullen and Matt Grimes both scored twice for the Swans, with Oli Cooper netting their fifth.
Here’s what Forest supporters have been saying on social media.
Chris Hughton’s side got off to the worst possible start when Wayne Routledge crossed low for Cullen, despite the former Crystal Palace winger appearing to be offside in the build-up.
Forest were in second gear for much of the first half and their passiveness in attack was punished when Grimes struck a fabulous second with a 25-yard drive.
After making 10 changes to the side which lost to Middlesbrough in midweek, Forest showed much more intent after the break as they looked to find chinks in Swansea’s armour.
And they duly pulled a goal back when a mesmerising run from Joe Lolley was halted by a crude challenge and while the Reds would have won a penalty, Knockaert lashed in the loose ball.
But just as the visitors sensed there was a route back into the game, controversy struck when Ryan Manning was upended just outside the box, but Kevin Friend deemed it a penalty.
Grimes made no mistake from the spot and it was then left to Cullen to wrap the game up when he scored from a fine move, producing an instinctive first-time finish from Manning’s low cross.
Joe Worrall was inches away with a header as Forest kept plugging away, but substitute Cooper made it five when his low shot was saved by Smith only for it to squirm over the line.
