DEHRADUN: The Uttarakhand cabinet, which met on Friday, approved a proposal to request the Union government to accord central university status to GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology at Pantnagar. For this, a proposal would be sent to the Centre. The cabinet has also formed a committee under the chairmanship of the chief secretary to look into the issues related to the property of the varsity.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of an agency for carrying out infrastructural works at Kedarnath and Badrinath. It was also decided that a three-member committee headed by a retired judge of the high court will look into all matters of arbitration and give judgment in three months.
