GREATER NOIDA: A class IX girl who was cycling to her school along with her two sisters was allegedly pushed to the ground and strangled by a 22-year-old man from their village early Friday morning.
The girls – two of them real sisters and a third cousin - who belong to Bulandshahr’s Kakod area were travelling towards school via Dankaur when the accused attacked one of them.
The girls alleged that the accused who is a well-known drug addict started beating one of them and even slapped her before strangulation her.
According to police, the incident happened around 7.30am on Friday when the three sisters – residents of Wailana village of Bulandshahr’s Kakod area were cycling towards their private school in Bulandshahr district.
The route to their school passes via Gautam Budh Nagar’s Dankaur and they had reached near the Changoli village when the accused Kapil Bhati saw the trio.
Bhati allegedly pushed one of the sisters aged 14– a class IX student – kicking her cycle and thrusting her to the ground.
"The girl alleged that she was slapped by the youth who strangled her resulting in minor injuries to the teenager," Dankaur SHO Arvind Pathak told TOI.
The girls alleged that they knew the accused who is a well-known "drug addict" and "psycho" from their village Wailana.
After they informed their family, their relatives arrived at the Dankaur police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.
Pathak said that the accused Kapil has been arrested. An FIR has been lodged against him under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or use of criminal force to outrage woman’s modesty) and sections 7/8 of the POCSO Act.
The accused allegedly told the cops that he beat up the teenager because they had been "laughing" at him.
