Uttar Pradesh: Woman who accused ex-minister Gayatrai Prajapati of rape held

LUCKNOW: The Chitrakoot-based woman who had accused former cabinet minister Gayatrai Prajapati for gangrape was arrested by a team of Gomtinagar Extension police station on Saturday.

The accused woman was staying at a house in Sector K of Aashiana from where she was arrested.

DCP East Prachi Singh said an FIR was registered against the accused woman by one Brij Bhawan Dubey in 2020.

Dubey had alleged that the accused in connivance with Gayatri Prajapaiti and Anil Prajapati had forced him to get a land valued at Rs 2.5 crore registered in her name. He said the minister and his men forced him to register the land which was in the name of him and his wife to the Chitrakoot-based woman.

DCP said the woman in 2017 had accused Gayatri Prajapati in a gangrape case for which the minister was also convicted in 2021. Singh said a chargesheet against Gayatri, his son Anil Prajapati had been submitted in 2021.

She said the Gayatri Prajapati and Anil Prajapati were named for extortion, fraudulent practice, tempering of government documents.
