KANPUR: After Kanpur, wherein a man allegedly killed his alcoholic son, now a woman tied her husband from a pole in the courtyard of their house and rained ‘lathi’ on her husband for consuming alcohol in Etawah district. The people of the village also made a video of the whole episode and made it viral on social media.
According to village sources, Renu, a native of Killi Sultanpur village in Basrehar police station area of the district attacked her husband Radheyshaym with a ‘lathi’ after he picked up a quarrel with her in an inebriated state on Sunday night. Renu told police that her husband consumes liquor every day and beats her and their children.
“He often comes to the house with local hoodlums who have bad intentions on her and their elder daughter. Not only this, some people of the village bought one of their houses by paying a small amount and her husband spent all the money on liquor,” she said and added, “And now he was also trying to sell agricultural land. Not only this, every other day money-lenders harass us, after getting fed up, she resorted to such a harsh step,” she said. The woman said that many times she has also complained to the police, but in vain.
Due to this addiction of the husband, many times we sleep without food. “I am making a living by working as a labourer myself,” she said. SSP Jai Prakash said, “The incident has come to fore, investigations are on in this regard.”
