Uttar Pradesh: ‘Some parties in the habit of making false charges’

LUCKNOW: After Aam Aadmi Party filed a police complaint against medical education minister Suresh Khanna and others on Wednesday for an alleged scam in purchase of medical equipment, Khanna said that the political outfit had made it a habit of making false charges against people and then apologising to them in court.

Without naming the party, Khanna said that a leader of the party was busy in trying to mislead people by levelling atrocious charges against the government. “However, what he is not talking about is why his government in Delhi has purchased equipment at a cost higher than what UP government purchased them for. Why is their government quiet on this,” Khanna said.

The minister accused leaders of some political parties of starting to imagine things as the Assembly elections are nearing. He said that where one was trying to hand over “lollipops of free power”, another had promised 10 lakh jobs in the first cabinet meeting.

“The Yogi Adityanath government has provided power to all houses and set records in providing jobs. In the past four years, 4 lakh government jobs and 2 crore in the private sector were generated. A person who is unable to provide water or power to the people in Delhi is trying to mislead people in other states,” he said, referring to the AAP government in the national capital.

The minister said that the Delhi government had failed in providing treatment and later vaccines to people which is why many of them had to turn to west UP.
