Uttar Pradesh: Skill development of women our goal, says Keshav Prasad Maurya

LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Saturday that the dream of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ cannot be achieved till the women of the country become self-reliant. Maurya added that the UP government is making all efforts to empower women by providing them access to skill development to enable them to lead better lives.

Speaking at a programme organized by HCL Foundation in the state capital on Saturday, Maurya said: “The unity envisaged in self-help groups intertwined with skills passed on from one generation to another is a force to reckon with. The power of SHGs must be used to upskill women and aid faster development of the state.”

The programme marked the launch of HCL Samuday crafts’ new collection called Alankar. The organization has partnered with Flipkart’s Samarth project.
