Uttar Pradesh: Rs 12.96 cr commercial complex of jailed don Mukhtar Ansari's close aide attached in Mau

VARANASI: The district administration and police in Mau district attached a commercial complex- Fatima Complex- of Rs 12.96 crores on Jahagirabad by-pass road under the limits of City Kotwali police station on Tuesday.

SP Mau Avinash Pandey said, “Fatima complex was owned by Haji Mukhtar, who is a close aide of jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari. A total of 1299.6 square meter land had been purchased by utilising the terror and influence of Mukhtar Ansari while Haji Mukhtar had built the Fatima complex in the name of his wife with illegally earned money.”

Under the on-going drive against the gangsters to destroy their economic empire police verified that Haji Mukhtar had no legal source of income in past two decades which he could utilise to purchase precious commercial land and build a huge commercial complex, he said adding, after confirming this fact police also collected Haji Mukhtar’s criminal record and details that how he managed to purchase land and build the commercial complex.

With all these facts SP Mau sent a report to district magistrate Mau to confiscate the property under Gangster Act provisions on August 20. He said that DM issued an order for attachment of Fatima Complex on Monday after which a joint team of district administration and police led by SDM Sadar and CO City reached Jahagirabad by-pass road and completed the process of attaching it.
