LUCKNOW: Following decline in the number of new cases and surge in the recoveries, the state government on Saturday directed officials concerned to revive tehsil and thana divas activities with Covid norms.
Issuing instructions during a meeting of the Team-9, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said it was important to bring life back to normal but with adequate caution. He directed the officials to let revenue courts hold jan sunvais.
Meanwhile, 112 new cases and 203 recoveries were reported in the past 24 hours. With this, UP’s Covid-19 tally reached 17,06,495. Of the total, 16,81,412 have recovered, while 22,622 have died. Two deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Lucknow (17) and Prayagraj (10) recorded double digit entries, while Kanpur (7) and Gautam Budh Nagar (8) recorded more than five cases. The remaining 71 districts either recorded a duck or the cases were below five.

At least 17 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection, while 15 patients recovered on Saturday. The number of active cases have now dropped to 180. No death was reported due to the disease in the past 24 hours. Overall, the city’s case load is over 2.38 lakh, of which 98.8% (over 2.35 lakh) patients have recovered and 1.1% (2,649) have died.
Meanwhile, KGMU’s caseload of black fungus infection crossed the 500-mark on Saturday with three more patients being admitted to KGMU in the past 24 hours.
