LUCKNOW: In at least 18 districts of the state, the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered was reported to be 20 lakh or more so far, as per official data shared here on Monday.
The list includes state capital Lucknow on the top with over 41.47 lakh doses. It also includes important cities of the state such as Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Gautam Budh Nagar, Varanasi and Bareilly.
The total number of doses administered in the state reached 11.65 crore with 14.428 lakh doses on Monday. Officials said that 9.16 crore people have taken at least one dose, while 2.48 crore are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, 12 new cases and 11 recoveries were reported in the past 24 hours. The active cases left in the state after adjustment of discharges and new addition was 142. A look at the official bulletin revealed that 47% of the active cases were concentrated in just three districts namely Lucknow (36), Prayagraj (16) and Gautam Budh Nagar (15).
4 new Covid cases, 52k jabbed on Mon
Nearly 52,000 people across Lucknow district turned up to take the jab against Covid-19 on Monday. The drive was conducted at 268 government and 24 private booths in which 52,009 persons took vaccine shots. Till now, 41.4 lakh shots have been administered in the district.
These doses have been used in vaccinating 16.3 lakh people partially with a dose and 12.5 lakh persons fully with two doses. District immunisation officer Dr MK Singh said, “We are running a special awareness campaign to encourage rural population to take vaccines as they have been lagging in comparison to their urban counterparts.”
Meanwhile, four more persons tested Covid-19 positive in the city on Monday, while three patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is 36.
