LUCKNOW: An advocate-cum-property dealer allegedly shot dead his wife for objecting to his liquor habit at their house in Thakurganj on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Pushpa Chaurasiya (42) of Ekta Nagar locality of Balaganj in Thakurganj. The accused was identified as Ashok Kumar Chauraisiya.
Police said that Ashok picked the habit of alcohol for the past year and this made Pushpa apprehensive of his health .
"Around 3 pm on Tuesday, the couple had a verbal spat over the issue again. In a fit of rage, Ashok lifted his handgun and opened fire at Pushpa hitting her in her chest. Pushpa was rushed to the Trauma Centre of KGMU where she was declared brought dead. "She died of excessive bleeding and shock, said the doctors ," said Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, ADCP, West Zone.
Ashok later was apprehended by a team of police.
