Uttar Pradesh: Income tax inspector run over by train in Bharthana

KANPUR: Ashit Yadav (23), a resident of Bharthana in Etawah, and posted as Income Tax inspector in Kerala, died after being run over by a train.

He had gone out on a morning walk on Friday morning and fell victim to the mishap.

On receiving the information, police took the body in their possession and handed it over to the family members after conducting the post-mortem examination. The deceased had come to Agra on Thursday to take part in a departmental meeting.

Ashit Yadav alias Ashu, son of Ramveer Yadav, a resident of Girdharipura of Bharthana police station area, was posted as Income Tax inspector in Kerala, police said.

"As per his family members, after attending the meeting in Agra, he came to his house in Bharthana on Thursday evening. On Friday morning, he had gone for a walk towards the railway line, where he died after being run over by a train," said ASP Satyapal Singh.

As soon Ashit's family members received the news of his death, they rushed to the spot.

The deceased was the eldest of two brothers and was unmarried. His younger brother is a student while his father Ramveer is in a private job, the police said.
