KANPUR: A team of GST Intelligence conducted a raid at the residence and factory of the city’s perfume trader in Kannauj district on Wednesday.
The team went through the documents related to the business for several hours. The raid which started in the afternoon continued till late evening. The official confirmation, however, is yet to be made by the concerned authorities. Sources informed, a team led by the assistant commissioner of GST from Etawah raided the place of a perfume trader in Mohalla Hajiganj area of the city at around 12 noon.
A team of about four to five officers and police personnel first reached the traders residence and went inside and questioned the people. The team stayed inside the residence for several hours.
Talaiya outpost in-charge Yogendra Sharma told media persons that the police force was sent with the GST team for its security and to maintain law and order of the area. “We are not aware about the action which the GST team had taken,” he said further.
