Bike-Bot scam: ED attaches GIPL's assets worth Rs 112.36 crore

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow zonal office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday attached the movable and immovable assets to the tune of Rs 112.36 crore belonging to Garvit Innovative Promoters Limited (GIPL) and its owner Sanjay Bhati in connection with the Bike-Bot scam.

Sanjay Bhati, through his GIPL company, had duped 2.6 lakh people of over Rs 4,000 crore under the garb of a “multi-level marketing scheme” called ‘Bike-Bot’ — floated in 2017 — which promised to double people’s investment.

As per the ED officials, assets worth Rs 107 crore — comprising immovable properties with flats in Saga Habitat project of Zenith Township Private Limited, university land and buildings of Arni University in Kangra in Himachal Pradesh and under construction towers in Amadeus Project — were seized.

The movable assets worth Rs 5.35 crore have also been attached provisionally.

Investigation in the Bike-Bot scam was taken up in June 2019 on the basis of various FIRs registered at Dadri police station in Gautam Buddha Nagar in UP against the company and its promoter Sanjay Bhati and others.
