LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak took feedback from 330 patients in 33 days during the 'Swasthya Aapka Sankalp Hamara' campaign that was launched on June 22 to improve the health system.
During the campaign, patients gave suggestions for improvement in emergency facilities and informed him how health facilities have changed ever since he started taking feedback. Under the campaign, Pathak takes feedback from 10 patients - both admitted to hospitals and visiting OPDs -of five districts on phone every day. For this purpose, details of patients were given to him. Thereafter, he made random calls to 10 patients.
In about 33 days, the deputy CM interacted with patients in Ballia, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Banda, Kanpur, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Hapur, Chandauli, Barabanki, Meerut, Basti, Gorakhpur, Hathras, and Kannauj.
Most of the patients informed him that they were being provided free treatment, and doctors were examining them on time. Only eight patients told him that they had to wait for long for medicines, OPD tickets and pathological tests. Pathak gave instructions to increase the OPD, pathological sample collection and medicine distribution counters. He also directed hospitals to be on toes and there should be no scarcity of emergency drugs. "The government will expand the scope of taking feedback " said the Dy CM.
