LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Monday claimed to have found a diary at his newly allotted residence at Vikramaditya Marg which, according to him, has discreet information related to the usage of budget under one of the previous governments in Uttar Pradesh.
Pathak made revelations about the cryptic content of the diary in his address during the discussion on state budget in the assembly. He, however, did not specify the party which was in power at that time.
According to Pathak, the diary mentioned that “some G” will “collect” money, and deposit it with “some S”.
Pathak alleged that the person, mentioned as ‘G’, seemed important enough as he was not required to listen to the then chief minister.
“Likewise, a person, mentioned as ‘S’, had to collect money and give it to ‘A’. However, he did not have to give the amount in cash but transfer it at a later stage. ‘Some R’ will manage the money collected and ‘N’ was responsible for the entire operation,” he said.
“My Samajwadi friends will be able to decode the content...we are yet to decode it,” Pathak said.
The deputy CM’s jibe came immediately after SP chief Akhilesh Yadav mounted an attack on the BJP for ignoring the principles of Samajwadi leaders who worked tirelessly for the uplift of the country. Pathak said the SP ranks themselves changed the definition of ‘samajwad’ (socialism) by allowing control of resources – administrative and monetary – within their own family instead of passing it on to the society.
By that time, Akhilesh had left the assembly.
