Uttar Pradesh: Boy rescued in Farrukhabad, woman kidnapper arrested

KANPUR: The police rescued a three-year-old boy, who was kidnapped from his house in Farrukhabad district, by a woman hailing from Delhi. The kidnapper, Reema, was arrested, the police said.

Gulshan Kashyap’s three-year-old son Aditya, who lives in Mohalla Talaiya Fazal Imam in Farrukhabad, went missing on Wednesday afternoon.

After launching a frantic search, the family members approached the local police. However, on finding no help from the police, they thereafter met SP Ashok Kumar Meena and narrated their ordeal. Subsequently, the SP formed a special team and launched a search for the missing child in the night itself.

During the search, the police, on the basis of some specific clues, raided the house of one Dinesh Mishra, who happens to be a neighbour of Gulshan. From there, the police detained Mishra’s sister Reema, who had come to his house from Delhi about a week ago. During sustained grilling, Reema broke down and confessed to kidnapping and hiding the child at the house of one Pradeep Verma in Chachupur village of Kamalganj area of the district.

Subsequently, the police conducted a raid at the house of Pradeep Verma the same night and recovered the child, who was handed over to his mother Gulshan. Police are now interrogating Reema, as there is also information about a case being registered against her in Delhi.
