AGRA: A class XII student of Agra’s university model school was found dead on the ground floor of a four-storey coaching centre behind his school building in Khandari area on Wednesday.
He was found in a pool of blood a couple of minutes after his father dropped him at the school and the police suspect that he died by suicide. The family, however, disputed the police’s preliminary findings and claimed that 17-year-old Rishabh Mithas was killed. They demanded a detailed inquiry into the ill-fated incident.
The student was studying in class XII A. When he did not reach the school at 9:30 am, his teacher called his parents as his Math practical was scheduled on Wednesday. His father informed that he had dropped him off at the school around 9:57 am. Instead of going to the school campus, the student apparently went towards a coaching centre building, operated by the Social Welfare department, the police said.
Police added that his bag was found on the third floor of the centre. The CCTV footage shows that he was alone there. Preliminary investigations suggest that he ended his life by jumping from the third floor. His body has been sent for post mortem and the cause of death will be ascertained in the report, SP (city) Vikas Kumar told TOI. The matter is currently being investigated.
