LUCKNOW: In rapid spike, 682 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in UP on Wednesday while 352 patients recovered during the same period. The state’s active case tally has reached 3,257. Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad accounted for the maximum number of new and active cases in the state.
Four people also succumbed to the virus. Experts urged people to stay cautious but assured there was no need to panic as the spate in cases was being caused by omicron and its subtypes which is not life threatening unless the patient has a history of diseases.
