LUCKNOW: As many as 16 backlog Covid-19 deaths were included in the state’s overall coronavirus death toll on Thursday. With this the overall death toll for state reached 22,841 which accounts for a death rate of 1.4%.
Meanwhile, after a gap of nearly a week, the new cases recorded in the state reached 36 taking the total to 17,09,386. Of the total, 16,86,287 or about 98.6% have recovered. This includes 11 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
The official bulletin indicated that the 36 new cases were reported from 19 districts, while 20 districts have zero active cases. Rae Bareli is home to maximum number of active cases at the moment, while 50 districts have less than 10 active cases.
ACS, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad said it was important to stay vigilant against the pandemic virus and other seasonal infections such as dengue and scrub typhus. He advised people to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and make children wear full sleeved clothes to ensure that no one falls sick.
Prasad said that the state had also made arrangements for testing of suspected cases of dengue in addition to the testing of Covid-19 suspects. “All officials in districts have been told to send samples of fever inflicted patients for dengue. ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) reader-based NSI (in the first five days of symptoms) and IgM (after five days) should be used to test for dengue,” he added.
