AGRA: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men in Aligarh’s Pisawa area on Thursday afternoon when she had gone to her field to cut grass. When the woman resisted, the accused attacked her with a scythe injuring her neck.
According to the woman’s husband, she had gone to the field around 3pm. When she did not return after a few hours, he went looking for her and found her lying in a pool of blood. He took her to a district hospital for treatment and lodged a police complaint.
SP (rural) Shubham Patel said that an FIR has been registered under sections 376 D (gangrape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC on the basis of the complaint filed by her husband and further investigations are on. One of the accused, nabbed by local residents, was remanded to judicial custody.
