KANPUR: A 29-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself from a country-made firearm in Ghatampur’s Patara area of the district on Tuesday. On getting information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot and initiated investigation into the matter.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
The deceased, Shivsharan Singh alias Tannu (29) is survived by his wife Soni Singh, daughter Gudiya (8) and son Deepak (6). The police said that the man resorted to extreme step as he had recently lost his job.
Circle Officer (CO) Ghatampur Sushil Dubey said that as per the family members, Shivsharan, who used to work at a photo studio, after being fired from his job by his employer was reeling under depression since the past few days. “We have not yet received any complaint in this regard. Investigations are on,” said the CO. tnn
