LUCKNOW: Child prodigy Rashtram Aditya Sri Krishna, enrolled in class 9 in a UP Board school in Lucknow under a special case in August 2019, passed the class 10 exams with flying colours.
Aditya, who will turn 11 on October 17 this year, scored 79% marks.
The wonder boy secured 82 in Hindi, 83 in English, 64 in mathematics, 76 in science, 84 in social science and 86 in art.
“He is an extremely bright student and is an inspiration to many of his age and even to senior students,” said district inspector of schools Mukesh Kumar Singh. Seeing his extraordinary talent, UPSEB had in 2019 given him special permission after which he was enrolled in class 9 at MD Shukla Inter College in Lucknow.
“Aditya is an avid reader, and is quick to grasp any concept. He is thorough with topics and can solve sums even with his eyes closed,” said principal HN Upadhyaya.
“He is also well-versed with yoga and can speak at length on social issues,” Upadhyaya said.
This was the second time when UPSEB had allowed a comparatively younger child to appear for class 10 board examinations. Earlier, child prodigy Sushma Verma had enrolled in class 9 at the tender age of five. She became the country’s youngest matriculate in 2007 when she passed UP Board examination.
While the board’s rules say a student needs to be at least 14 years of age to appear in class 10 board exams, these children were exceptions.
