Utan launch 'super strength' gummy bears that promise to boost your natural tan

Wouldn't we all just love an enviable golden glow this summer, without as much time spent in the damaging sun?

It was just a dream, but now Utan say they've made it one step closer to coming true with their new launch.

Last week they announced they were introducing a new version of their Tan Gummies - which were so popular last year that one pot sold every minute.

This time, they've come back with a 'super strength' formula.

Enter the Vacay Gummies, £18 (in Sex on the Beach flavour!).

The new chews are designed to be taken three days before sun exposure, while you're on holiday, and then after it to keep your tan for longer.

If you're already a user of the original Tan Gummies, you can take the Vacay versions along side it for an optimum glow.

While you do still need UV exposure for these to work, Utan claim the new versions contain high doses of the building blocks of melanin - which would mean it should take less time in the sun for your skin to go a lovely shade of bronze.

And we all know, less sun means less skin damage in the long run.

They're also a much safer alternative to melanin injections, which are illegal in the UK but according to NHS.uk still sold under the counter in beauty salons and gyms.

“Melanin injections such as Melanotan are illegal, mainly because they don't have enough clinical and safety evidence,' says Kay Greveson, aesthetic nurse practitioner and founder of Regents Park Aesthetics .

"These injections work by stimulating the melanocytes in your skin, which then darken the skin tone to give a tanned appearance. The fact that Melanotan is sold illegally means that it's difficult to know exactly what it contains and whether it will interact with other medications.

"It may also affect the appearance of any moles which can be a sign of skin cancer, especially if you use in combination with sunbeds."

Utan say their gummies, on the other hand, use safe and natural vegan ingredients to enhance your tan, without the risks that come with injections.

Don't forget, though, if you're heading off into the sun then you'll still need to put your suncream on.

The bears may be good for accelerating your bronzing but they won't stop you from burning!
