Utah Woman Grabbed Roommate by the Hair in Assault Following Argument Over Dirty Dishes: Police

A Utah woman was arrested after she assaulted her roommate following a dispute over household chores, authorities say.

Scarleth Lissette Vega Guiracocha, 23, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.

Officers from the Provo Police Department responded to a call alleging that an assault had taken place and interviewed the roommate pair at a police station.

The roommates indicated during their interviews that an "argument ensued due to dirty plates not being washed," reported KSLTV.

Guiracocha allegedly followed her roommate into her room, barging in through the close door and refusing to leave after entering despite being told to do so. She then pushed the victim to the ground and grabbed her by the hair and neck.

"The victim stated that she could not breathe for approximately 5 seconds and had to hit Scarleth's hand to be able to breathe," arrest documents state.

Guiracocha then tried to kick the victim, but the victim defended herself.
