Utah (2-0) vs. Idaho State (1-0) Game Preview
Why Idaho State Will Win
The Bengals had a nice first game in its win over Western Colorado. The offense has a few nice parts in Ty Flanagan running the ball along with quarterback Matt Struck, who hit the Mountaineers for 402 yards and four touchdown.
The defense didn’t allow a touchdown, and there’s enough of an offense to be a problem for the Utes. Last season, ISU managed 23 points on a Cal defense that allowed 21 points for fewer nine times, and this year’s attack is stronger. Utah can’t just mail this in.
Why Utah Will Win
Utah might be looking ahead to the showdown at USC, and it’ll want to get its starters off the field as soon as possible.
The Idaho State offense might have been good in all phases last week, but it’s about to have a big problem with a Utah defensive front that stuffed Northern Illinois for 67 rushing yards. The Bengals aren’t going to be able to move the ball on the ground, and they’re not going to be able to control the clock.
Utah might have been down early against the Huskies, but it showed off the explosion in the second quarter to take over. Tyler Huntley and the passing game should be able to spread the ball around well enough to go on two early scoring drives before turning this over to the D.

What’s Going To Happen
Utah won’t have any problems getting this over whenever it’s ready. Idaho State will manage a few points, but the Utes will come up with three touchdowns in the first quarter to put it into cruise control the rest of the way.
