What’s Going To Happen
Can San Diego State do enough to slow down the Utah State offensive attack?
The Aztecs are stuffing everyone, allowing a grand total of 24 points in three games – even if they haven’t played anyone with a decent offense.
Utah State will be the first real test, with Jordan Love and the passing game currently third in the nation as they all do a great job of moving the chains with an ultra-efficient O that’s been able to keep up with Wake Forest before blowing away Stony Brook.
It’s all going to be about who can impose their will. San Diego State likes to grind out the clock – keeping the ball for over 35 minutes a game – and Utah State likes to strike quickly. At home, expect the Aztec D to flex its muscle with a whole slew of big plays in the backfield to get to Love.
SDSU will be +3 in turnover margin, the run defense will keep the chains and the clock moving, and the team will survive a few quick strikes to make its first major statement – at least in the Mountain West race.
