A longshot, but you never know.

Utah State officially began its efforts to get senior quarterback Jordan Love to New York City for the presentation of the Heisman Trophy, given annually to the best college football player in the country.

This isn’t the first time in recent memory that the Aggies have launched a Heisman campaign, having done so for former quarterback Chuckie Keeton in 2014, but Love arguably begins from a stronger position after a junior season in which he completed 64% of his passes for 3,567 yards and 32 touchdowns. He also contributed another seven scores on the ground, as well.

Anyone interested in following Love’s exploits can follow the hashtag #10veforHeisman on Twitter. Though he figures to be the Mountain West’s best Heisman candidate in 2019, keep in mind that any Group of 5 would face long odds. The last player from outside the Power 5 to win the award was BYU quarterback Ty Detmer in 1990, and last year’s winner was former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray.
