No. 21 Colorado played Utah on Saturday on a snowy Folsom Field in Boulder, and Utah tight end Cole Fotheringham showed off his athleticism with an impressive move that should be among any highlights from this game.
Early in the second quarter on 1st-and-10, Utah had the ball on its own 45-yard line when senior quarterback Jake Bentley faced pressure and found Fotheringham, the junior tight end to his right near the sideline. Fotheringham caught the ball at about the line of scrimmage, but he made this 16-yard play look easy.
He ran for a few yards before leaping into the air and hurdling Colorado senior safety Derrion Rakestraw to pick up a first down and then some. What a play from a guy who’s listed at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds.

Wow. Everyone loves a good hurdle play, but we don’t often see bigger players like this full-on hurdle their opponents, so this is pretty cool.
And Fotheringham is such a big guy that the real-time replay looks like it’s actually in slow motion. Again, he made this look easy.
Unfortunately for Utah, this drive ended with Bentley throwing an interception. Colorado — which, with some outside help, has a chance to win the Pac-12 South and play in the conference championship game next weekend — had a 14-10 lead at halftime.
