Oleksandr Usyk beat Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, knocking out the Briton to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.
Usyk, one of the finest boxers of this generation, secured a fifth-round stoppage, two years after beating Dubois via TKO in Poland.
The result kept the Ukrainian, 38, unbeaten, and saw him regain undisputed status atop the heavyweight division. Last May, he outpointed Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 24 years, but he soon vacated the IBF title, and Dubois was elevated from interim IBF champion to regular champion. In Usyk's rematch with Fury in December, he again won on points to retain his other titles.
And the southpaw regained the IBF strap on Saturday (19 July), as he became a three-time undisputed champion overall; previously, the 2012 Olympic champion held all the major belts at cruiserweight.

Oleksandr Usyk faces off with Jake Paul at Wembley as YouTuber teases MMA fight
01:00 , Alex PattleOn Saturday night, boxing fans were left wondering whether Oleksandr Usyk's next opponent could be Jake Paul, after the undisputed heavyweight champion faced off with the YouTuber at Wembley Stadium.
The surprising staredown came moments after Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois – for the second time in two years – to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion. The Ukrainian, 38, finished Dubois, 27, in round five, having previously beaten the Briton in 2023.
Saturday's result in London saw Usyk retain the unified titles and recapture the IBF belt, and it also ensured the southpaw stayed unbeaten. In his post-fight interview, attention quickly turned to his next fight, after he refrained from suggesting that he could retire, with the Ukrainian mentioning Joseph Parker and old rival Tyson Fury as possible foes.
However, it was YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul who entered the ring to face off with Usyk, before the pair shared a respectful handshake.

Spellbinding Oleksandr Usyk lures Daniel Dubois into vicious KO and cruel lesson
23:45 , Will CastleThis was abrupt, this was startling, and in a way, this felt cruel. Cruel is not a word one would instinctively associate with Oleksandr Usyk, but in the cauldron that Wembley Stadium became, the Ukrainian lured in the young pretender and knocked him out, stealing tens of thousands of Dubois's fans in the process.
After their controversial first clash in 2023, when Usyk climbed off the canvas after a low blow that Dubois's team swore was a body shot, this rematch brought a distilled clarity. There was nothing to contest, nothing to debate, nothing to appeal.
The narrative was that Dubois, two years more mature and in the form of his boxing life, might just be meeting a 38-year-old Usyk at the right time on Saturday. Yet Usyk, 11 years Dubois's elder, looked decades wiser in pugilistic terms, as he taught Dubois a harsh sporting lesson in London. Dubois barely even had moments to speak of, while Usyk established a key weapon early on – a counter, southpaw cross – and punished his opponent repeatedly.

Entrances fitting for the occasion
23:40 , Will CastleAn all-action fight at Wembley - but let’s give props to the entrances of both Usyk and Dubois. Safe to say it got us in the mood, if that was even needed!

Can anyone beat Oleksandr Usyk?
23:20 , Will CastleJoseph Parker, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Derek Chisora - four names dropped by Oleksandr Usyk after sleeping Daniel Dubois.
Can any of them match the Ukrainian wizard?

Oleksandr Usyk proves too much for Daniel Dubois on home soil
23:10 , Will Castle

Daniel Dubois speaks after being dethroned
22:56 , Will Castle"I'll be back. It is what it is. I want thank everyone for coming out, I gave it my best,” Dubois says.
Don Charles, Dubois's trainer, calls Usyk a "generational great”, while the Brit’s promoter Frank Warren heaps praise on the Ukrainian.
"Unbelievable fighter, in any generation,” he said. “The better man won on the night. He's a fabulous, fabulous champion."
Warren also confirmed that Joseph Parker is next - a mandatory defence for the WBO champion.
Oleksandr Usyk addresses Daniel Dubois following brutal KO
22:53 , Will Castle"I'm sorry, it's sport," he says, addressing Dubois.
The Brit knows that more than anyone. In the same stadium, in the same round, he dealt the same fate to Anthony Joshua back in September.
Who is next for Oleksandr Usyk?
22:51 , Will Castle"Next, I don't know. I want to rest... I don't know,” Usyk replies.
He says he wants to spend time with his family, with his children. "I want to rest now – maybe two, three months just rest."
But who is next, Oleksandr?!
"Maybe Tyson Fury..." Surprisingly, there are cheers for that, before he also mentions Anthony Joshua and, most likely, Joseph Parker.
"Listen, people, thank you so much." The crowd adores him.

Oleksandr Usyk: "Only the start"
22:49 , Will Castle"38 is a young guy, remember," are Usyk's first words. "38 is only start.
"I want to say thank you, Jesus Christ. I want to say thank you, my team and you – thank you so much," he tells the converted crowd, which screams its own gratitude in response.
That doesn’t sound like a retirement to me!
Oleksandr Usyk is undisputed again!
22:44 , Will CastleHere’s Michael Buffer to confirm the result...
Oleksandr Usyk def. Daniel Dubois via fifth-round knockout (left hook, 1:52)
Three. Times. Undisputed!
Oleksandr Usyk knocks out Daniel Dubois in round five!
22:41 , Will CastleWow. Just wow. Oleksandr Usyk deserves all the flowers in the world.
One of the greatest fighters of all time.
Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2
22:39 , Will CastleRound five
This was the round where Dubois flatlined AJ back in September - a good omen?
It looks like it may just be as he gets Usyk into the corner - but it’s a HUGE COUNTER SHOT THAT KNOCKS THE BRIT DOWN!
He makes the count first time - but Usyk isn’t going to let him survive for long! One more massive left hook and Dubois hits the mat again! There’s no way he makes the count this time - AND HE DOESN’T!
USYK KNOCKS OUT DUBOIS! UN-DIS-PUT-ED!

Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2
22:35 , Will CastleRound four
That was a much improved round for Dubois - he might’ve got one back after losing the first two. But Usyk does well to frustrate him as the fourth begins, not allowing him to land anything major before picking him off on the counter.
Dubois is too slow with the double jab, exposing himself enough for the speed and precision of Usyk to punish once more. Usyk is happy to pick his punches at the moment.
But a big body shot gets through in the final minute, evoking a wry smile from Usyk! He was clearly hurt by that one - but he stays on his feet, no low blow controversy this time!
It was an almost identical shot!
Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2
22:30 , Will CastleRound three
Two good left hands pushes Usyk back. Dubois is so strong, so powerful - you can never write him off, especially if he can get him against the ropes.
More success from Dubois as he starts clipping him around the ring. Usyk is still looking light on his feet, though.
It’s a better round for Dubois - until he walks into a beautiful left hand from Usyk on the counter! The Ukrainian great is just too accurate!
The two styles on show here are merging wonderfully. It’s brought us an absolute belter so far!
Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2
22:27 , Will CastleRound two
Dubois needs to stay relaxed. Usyk is doing well to read the Brit, forcing him to fall short with the job as he looks crisp and sharp.
Better from Dubois as he lands with the right, but Usyk responds with a dynamite counter-left as he fades away. Even when he does some damage, it’s Usyk who comes back with a bigger bang.
And just as I say that, it happens again! Dubois goes in hot and heavy but gets his head SNAPPED BACK with a counter left, with Dubois wobbling as the bell rings!
Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2
22:23 , Will CastleRound one
Touch gloves, AND WE ARE AWAY! Twelve rounds for all the heavyweight marbles.
Dubois starts putting on the pressure but IMMEDIATELY gets caught with a jab on the back foot! He needs to be aggressive, but he can’t be careless.
It’s brilliant counter-punching from Usyk, who is connecting with that southpaw jab. His right hand is just magic.
Dubois is staying on the offensive and gets Usyk into the corner as he tries to rain in body shots, but the Ukrainian quickly reminds him what happened in Poland - a big counter-hook connects to see out a really solid round from Usyk!
If that round was a sign of things to come, we’re in for a treat.
Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2
22:17 , Will Castle“LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLEEEEEEE!”
Michael Buffer doing his thing - it will never fail to get you in the mood! Goosebumps.
We are moments away from the bell, ladies and gentlemen. Hold on to your hats!

Oleksandr Usyk makes his entrance
22:13 , Will CastleEnjoy him while he’s still here. The legend, Oleksandr Usyk, is making what could well be - depending on tonight - his last entrance to the ring!
“USYK, USYK, USYK” chants echo around Wembley before a hearty version of Ave Maria plays him to the Wembley centre. This British crowd are appreciating who is gracing them with his presence.
A chilling entrance. He’s the favourite. But in this wonderful sport, you never know!

Daniel Dubois out first
22:10 , Will CastleHere comes “Dynamite”!
After a scintillating prelude, which included just a few fire spinners, the Brit walks the lengthy walk to the ring.
He enters the Wembley stage to “Candy” - by Cameo, not Robbie Williams - getting the sold-out crowd to their feet. He’s the heavy underdog tonight, but he was the heavy underdog against AJ - are we in for another heavyweight shock?

Time for the national anthems
22:03 , Will CastleA decent amount of Ukrainians in the building for the national anthem of Oleksandr Usyk, which is proudly belted out by ex-Chelsea and AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko at ringside!
There’s a hefty amount of support for Usyk inside Wembley - more than at the weigh-ins, where he was mostly booed - but as “God Save The King” is sang, it’s clear that the home favourite is just that.
Ringwalks next!
Usyk vs Dubois 2: Main-event ring walks just minutes away

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:49 , Alex PattleLawrence Okolie def. Kevin Lerena via unanimous decision (99-91, 100-90, 100-90)
An easy night for the judges!
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:45 , Alex PattleRound 10
Lerena tries to get after Okolie, knowing he needs a finish here, but he’s still struggling to find the former cruiserweight champ.
Okolie is content to skip around for much of the round, throwing counters only when he deems them truly necessary.
Lerena finally manages to brawl at close range, but the referee separates the heavyweights.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:37 , Alex PattleRound eight
Okolie throws very teasing shots now, barely punches at all in fact, before Lerena hurls a lead right hook at him.
No joy for Lerena there, as his frustrating night goes on.
Lerena is occasionally catching Okolie, but it’s often from close range with very little wind-up, and the Briton is unfazed.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:31 , Alex PattleRound six
We enter the second half of this fight, and Lerena is still struggling to close range cleanly on Okolie.
Okolie keeps the South African at range with an outstretched lead hand and straight shots – to the head and body.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:21 , Alex PattleRound four
Okolie is the taller man, an advantage that he is making the most of in the clinch. It helps that he appears to be the stronger man, too.
Mind you, there’s not as much clinching as in some of his past bouts at cruiserweight. He’s often been criticised for that element to his fighting.
And... just as I say that... a series of clinches ensue, with the ref eventually separating and warning the boxers.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:17 , Alex PattleRound three
Lerena, spirited as ever, is able to arrest momentum here and there and get aggressive.
But Okolie seems to enjoy throwing this (relatively) new, extra weight around, digging into the body sporadically.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
21:13 , Alex PattleHere we go, 10 rounds scheduled.
Round one
Lerena stands southpaw, Okolie is orthodox.
Okolie does the better work in round one – the neater work, while Lerena is largely tasked with defending.
Some good body shots set up a cross upstairs for Okolie in one of his best moments in the round.
Round two
Again, Okolie does the superior work. Lerena already looks a bit marked up around his face, and he’s mainly working on the back foot.
Late in the round, Okolie slings a nice one-two at the South African, upstairs, before hooking to the body.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena
20:53 , Alex PattleOne more bout to go before the main event!
Former cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie takes on Kevin Lerena, as Okolie continues this new phase of his career at heavyweight.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Daniel Lapin vs Lewis Edmondson
20:48 , Alex PattleDaniel Lapin def. Lewis Edmondson via majority decision (95-95, 96-94, 96-94)
Lapin edges it, as close as it gets!
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Daniel Lapin vs Lewis Edmondson
20:38 , Alex PattleRound nine
The crowd is really filling out now, and it’s into this contest!
Back-and-forth boxing has the fans roaring on Edmondson, but it’s Lapin who does the better, cleaner work as the round progresses...
Finally the southpaw is starting to use his length to keep Edmondson at range, after struggling to do so for much of the fight.
Round 10
One final scrappy but fun round, and we’ll go to the judges’ scorecards!
Boos as Jake Paul is shown on the big screen arriving...
Daniel Lapin almost goes over the ropes!
20:33 , Alex PattleRound eight
Edmondson leans on Lapin, who in turn leans on the ropes. He has to be careful he doesn’t tip over them, so long is his frame!
A few moments later, the same happens, and this time Lapin turns his front onto the ropes... and nearly does go over!! He’s almost balancing on them with his torso!
The action resumes, and Edmondson is fired up as he gets after the Ukrainian! But AGAIN the action leads to the Briton almost tipping his foe over the ropes.
The ref then calls a timeout, believing Edmondson to have struck Lapin on the back of the head. Just a warning this time.
Wow, that round made the others look like crisp, clean action!!
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Daniel Lapin vs Lewis Edmondson
20:26 , Alex PattleRound five
Lapin’s neat, dyed orange mop has gotten messy.
He has moments of success in this round, but the nature of the action appears to be frustrating him; Edmondson is still making it scrappy, and seemingly to Lapin’s detriment for the most part.
Round six
Some of Edmondson’s entries are borderline funny, although they are working for him at times!
On one occasion, he steps in with a winging right hand, and his right foot is off the mat at the same time – with his toes pointed upwards!
It doesn’t look pretty, but it’s effective here and there.
Lapin looks to tidy things up, throwing light, teasing jabs at Edmondson’s guard as the Briton backs him up and pauses in front of him.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Daniel Lapin vs Lewis Edmondson
20:13 , Alex PattleRound three
Again, Edmondson gets into a messy confrontation; Lapin holds the back of his head, as the Briton ducks down and unfurls a slew of hooks to the body.
The referee eventually warns Lapin and separates the boxers.
Edmondson is still content to fight with his hands down for stretches of the action, trying to tease some aggression out of Lapin.
Later in the round, Lapin again looks to neutralise a scrappy Edmondson by holding his head.
In the final exchanges, Edmondson catches Lapin with a left hook as the Ukrainian exits to his own right.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Daniel Lapin vs Lewis Edmondson
20:05 , Alex PattleRound one
Lapin, so tall, stands southpaw. Edmondson, a tall man himself, is orthodox.
Both fighters box with their hands fairly low at times in this first round, Edmondson more so.
In one chaotic moment, he gets right after Lapin and catches the Ukrainian a couple of times in a frantic exchange in the corner.
Later on, Lapin goes on the offensive, and Edmondson’s head movement is a bit jerky, a bit tense perhaps...
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Vladyslav Sirenko vs Solomon Dacres
19:45 , Alex PattleRound 10
An attritional final round, fitting for this fight.
At points, both men are leaning on each other, breathing heavily.
We’ll go to the scorecards...
Solomon Dacres def. Vladyslav Sirenko via unanimous decision (99-91, 98-92, 99-92).
The right result! Sirenko was brave and stubborn, but Dacres did the better work – and did well to survive his opponent’s pressure.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Vladyslav Sirenko vs Solomon Dacres
19:17 , Alex PattleRound three
Dacres continues to land the heavier strikes, mixing in hooks and uppercuts well, but Sirenko is undeterred.
The Ukrainian continues to bear down on the Briton, and his jab looks pretty stern.
Cheers around the stadium, as Usyk’s arrival is shown on the big screen! He was largely booed at the weigh-in yesterday.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Vladyslav Sirenko vs Solomon Dacres
19:13 , Alex PattleTen rounds scheduled here.
Round one
Both men stand orthodox. A physical start, with some heavy body work in a few clinches. Sirenko aims to hold the centre of the ring.
No hesitance behind the Sirenko right hand; he’s happy throwing overhands and hooks, with little set-up beyond the jab.
Meanwhile, Dacres is favouring the left hook. Oh! Lovely rear uppercut, though, to get Sirenko’s attention!
Round two
An overhand right by Dacres draws an “ooo” from the crowd, which is starting to fill out at Wembley.
He’s landed some good stuff, and he’s working in the left hook to the body nicely.
The question is whether he can sustain this level, as Sirenko continues to keep him moving backwards. It’s a grinding pressure.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Prince Naseem’s son in action
18:37 , Alex PattleRound three
More activity from Hamed in this round, but none of his offence has been especially incisive.
Round four
A more aggressive approach from Hamed, who gets stuck in with lead uppercuts.
He does eat a few hooks, though, and he looks a little agitated when he does, covering up but also stepping away somewhat awkwardly.
Not the most scintillating showing from Prince Naseem’s son, but he will get the win, and that’s all that matters.
Aadam Hamed def. Ezequiel Gregores via decision (40-36).
The referee-judge gives Hamed every round, and rightfully so. With that, he stays unbeaten!
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Prince Naseem’s son in action
18:29 , Alex PattleFour rounds scheduled here.
Round one
Hamed stands southpaw and presses forward, backing up his orthodox opponent.
Lots of jabs from Hamed, not all of them landing. Gregores with some occasional winging shots, which the Briton sees coming from a mile off.
Round two
Hamed’s father is shouting instructions from ringside. Perhaps Prince Naseem wants to see a bit more aggression from his son.
When Gregores leaps into range, Hamed’s instinct is to evade and make the Argentine miss, but he’s not been so keen on throwing counters yet.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Prince Naseem’s son in action
18:17 , Alex PattleNext up is a welterweight fight between Argentina’s Ezequiel Gregores, who is escorted to the ring by a man with an umbrella, and Aadam Hamed – the son of British boxing legend “Prince” Naseem Hamed!
Here comes Hamed, also provided with an umbrella! As he gets to the ring, his shoes are wiped dry as well.
A fair few fans are sporting ponchos down on the floor...
Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: First result of the night
18:15 , Alex PattleThe first fight of the night is in the books!
Lasha Guruli overcomes James Francis in their super-lightweight bout, winning in the fifth round of a scheduled six.
The stoppage comes via retirement, actually two seconds into the round.
Francis’s team used the full minute between rounds to evaluate their boxer, and overran the allotted time before calling this one off.
The awkward truth behind the biggest moment of Dubois’ career
17:40 , Alex PattleA victory for Dubois would perhaps be the “better” outcome for the division tonight. Usyk may well retire regardless of the result, but a win for Dubois would feel more like a changing of the guard and allow fresh match-ups, after four years in which Usyk’s bouts have solely come against Fury, Joshua and Dubois, all of whom he will have boxed twice by the end of this week.
Yet that recent history is also why a victory for Dubois might lack some weight. Joshua got two stabs at defeating Usyk, one in 2021 and one in 2022, and was beaten across the 12-round distance both times. Fury also had two goes and got closer than “AJ” to accomplishing the goal, yet the “Gypsy King” was still outpointed last May and in December.
The decisions to make those rematches were understandable, and although the same applies this weekend, there is a feeling that is difficult to shake: that the British battalion will seemingly get chance after chance until one can finally beat Usyk. And if Dubois does at Wembley, what will it mean at this point?
More thoughts here:

The awkward truth behind the biggest moment of Daniel Dubois’s career
Dubois is dangerous and a familiar weakness could be Usyk’s undoing
17:20 , Steve BunceDaniel Dubois was a long way from finished at the end of his world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk in Poland two years ago.
Dubois had been dropped twice and stopped when he narrowly failed to beat the count in round nine. It was not a happy night for Dubois and in the midnight aftermath, harsh questions were asked about his desire to fight.
Dubois, it turns out, did want to fight, and he went on an impressive three-fight streak, winning all by stoppage and arguably starting all three as the underdog. It salvaged his reputation in a sport where lines are crossed too often by people pumping an agenda. Dubois also won the world heavyweight title.
Tonight at Wembley Stadium, he fights Usyk again for all four of the world heavyweight titles; it is a rematch that looked like a fantasy at the end of that long, long night in the Polish ring.
Preview by Steve Bunce:

Usyk vs Dubois 2 live: Why was first fight controversial? Low blow explained
16:40 , Alex PattleIn round five of their first fight, Dubois threw a body shot that arguably landed low, with Usyk immediately wincing and hunching over.
The Olympic champion fell to the canvas, but the referee did not start a count, having ruled the punch as landing below the belt.
Usyk was given five minutes to recover, per the rules. Despite declaring himself ready to resume boxing, Usyk was urged by referee Luis Pabon to take more time. Usyk ultimately used three minutes and 45 seconds of the five minutes allowed.
The round then resumed, and Dubois was unable to capitalise, with the bout progressing into round eight. In that round, Usyk dropped Dubois to a knee, and he did the same in the ninth round, with Dubois unable to beat the ref’s count on the latter occasion.
Dubois’s team, led by his incensed promoter Frank Warren, appealed the result but failed to get it overturned.
