Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 LIVE
Oleksandr Usyk floored Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of a thrilling contest at Wembley Stadium on Saturday to once again become the undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion. The win saw Usyk reclaim the IBF belt he vacated last year, before a December rematch with Tyson Fury, with Dubois upgraded to champion and then defending the title against compatriot Anthony Joshua last September.
Usyk's technical ability was on full display from the outset as he sidestepped everything thrown his way with deceptive ease and connected repeatedly with his jab, putting on a masterclass in counter-punching. Despite weighing in at a career-heaviest 227.3 pounds on Friday, Usyk floated around the ring with an almost balletic grace and prevented Dubois from making the most of his superior size.
The Ukrainian comfortably outclassed his opponent in three of the first four rounds, but most of the damage was dealt out in a brutal fifth-round beatdown. Usyk sent his opponent to the canvas with an overhand right, before a booming left hand right on the chin dashed Dubois' dreams and brought an end to the bout.
The unification fight was a rematch of one that Dubois lost by a controversial ninth-round knockout in Wroclaw, Poland, in 2023, after Usyk was given time to recover from what the referee ruled was a low blow.

Usyk's next opponent announced?
23:15 , Alex YoungFrank Warren has confirmed "it's Joseph Parker's time" when discussing Oleksandr Usyk's next opponent.
Usyk beat Daniel Dubois for a second time on Saturday night at Wembley, producing a brutal fifth-round knockout to retain his WBA, WBC and WBO belts and regain the IBF belt he relinquished just over a year ago.
A brutal left midway through the fifth round brought an end to the bout, which the unbeaten Ukrainian dominated from the first bell.
Asked after the fight who he will face next, Usyk simply replied: "I don't know. I want to rest. I want to go back home to my wife, my family."
Pushed for an answer, Usyk listed off four contenders. He added: "Maybe Tyson Fury?
"Three options, Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker. Listen, I cannot say because I want to go back home."
Warren, Dubois' promoter, then confirmed that Parker is the mandatory challenger.
"The WBO have already ordered that he has to make his mandatory defence against Joseph Parker, it's Joseph Parker's time."

Daniel Dubois has been asked for this thoughts.
He tells DAZN: "I have to commend Usyk on the performance. I gave everything I had. Take no credit away from the man. I will be back!
"I was just fighting. I was just trying to fight round by round."
Usyk is asked what’s next. He just wants to “rest.”
When he is pushed for an answer, he says: “Maybe Tyson Fury. Maybe Derek Chisora. Maybe Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joshua Parker.”
Usyk beats Dubois by KO

Usyk vs Dubois 2 - round 5
22:39 , Alex YoungDubois is down!
A huge right hits Dubois flush, knocking him off balance and onto his knee. He serves the count but Usyk flies in for the kill. A quick one-two, followed by a big left sends Dubois down to the matt again.
He’s not getting up this time. Lights are out and Usyk wins!
Usyk vs Dubois 2 - round 4
22:34 , Alex YoungDubois catches Usyk with a neat uppercut, which causes the Ukrainian to take a step back, his corner are screaming for a follow-up which never comes.
Usyk hits back with a quickfire combo of his own, Dubois takes a big, deep breath and tries to get his opponent in the corner but sees him wriggle away.
Dubois does hit the body, prompting a smirk from Usyk. He’s not fazed.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 - round 3
22:30 , Alex YoungDubois shoves Usyk away from him, comes back for more and does land with an overhand right. Huge cheers from the crowd, but Usyk shakes it off.
The game plan to catch Usyk round the back of the head is not bearing fruit yet for Dubois, and that jab from Usyk is finding a gap. Dubois having more success to the body, but it’s not enough.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 - round 2
22:26 , Alex YoungUsyk is moving beautifully around the ring, Dubois tries to catch him with an overhand right but it only connects with air.
Dubois needs to get his jab involved, it’s been nonexistent so far, but Usyk’s counter catches him flush in the face seconds before the bell.
Usyk vs Dubois 2 - first round
22:23 , Alex YoungIt is deafening in Wembley.
Dubois is caught straight away with that Usyk jab, hits back with a right but the Ukrainian’s footwork does brilliantly to take the sting out of it.
Usyk is gliding around the ring. Dubois gets him in the corner, but he skips out of it and lands a smart left to the face.
Super start from Usyk.
Usyk vs Dubois 2
22:19 , Alex YoungRight then. Is it a night of redemption for Dubois, or another step towards immortality for Usyk?
For all the marbles.
Let’s hear from Michael Buffer for one final time.

Usyk comes out to a rendition of Ave Maria.
Unreal aura, to be honest.
Here comes the unbeaten defending champion. Is he the more popular fighter in Wembley tonight?
Dubois is first up. He’s got someone with a Catherine Wheel firework on their back to the musical stylings of Chase and Status.
It really is something else.
And now the English national anthem. Also superbly sung.
A stunning rendition of the Ukrainian national anthem. Andriy Shevchenko is shown singing along in the crowd.
Here’s Michael Buffer.
Frank Warren is ready.
It’s time now for the main event. Undisputed at Wembley Stadium! It doesn’t get any bigger than this.

Okolie beats Lerena on points!
21:48 , Alex YoungAll three judges score the fight 100-90, all in favour of ‘The Sauce’ Okolie.
Light work.
Okolie vs Lerena - final round
21:46 , Alex YoungOkolie has boxed so well, albeit not against the toughest of opponents. Gameplan has been perfect, but he has also been zoned in too.
Lerena, an acclaimed sparring partner, has looked like a sparring partner for much of this.
Unanimous points decision incoming.

Okolie vs Lerena - round 9
21:42 , Alex YoungA right hand from Lerena sends Okolie’s jaw on its way but the Brit does recover quickly as, again, no follow-up.
Another right from Lerena, another warning for Okolie. Maybe Lerena does have a late shock in him?
Three more minutes to go.
Okolie vs Lerena - round 8
21:37 , Alex YoungLerena is a smart jab and finally some blood from the nose of Okolie. But no follow-up from Lerena, who needs a knockout to have any hope of winning this bout.
Okolie knows the end is near, holding Lerena at a distance as he continues to dance around the ring. Another big right from Okolie, Lerena takes a step back.
Two more to go.
Okolie vs Lerena - round 7
21:34 , Alex YoungOkolie is just skipping around the ring to victory. This is the plan, clearly, and he is out-boxing Lerena.
The South African is almost found off-balance but Okolie does not capitalise. Lerena reacts with a smart turn and tries the jab, but Okolie is already backtracking and the bell goes.

Okolie vs Lerena - round 6
21:32 , Alex YoungOkolie continues to dictate the pace, forcing the issue.
Suddenly a lovely left hand from Lerena but, again, doesn’t follow up. Okolie is able to take a breath, get his opponent in a head lock and the bell goes.
Okolie vs Lerena - round 5
21:29 , Alex YoungOkolie is so composed, waiting to strike and then connects with another big body shot.
Lerena just is not making it remotely uncomfortable for his opponent. He needs to shift gears, change the tempo against such a big challenger.
Okolie vs Lerena - round 4
21:21 , Alex YoungOkolie is oozing confidence and Lerena may have a cut above his left eye. It gets harder.
Lerena lands a left, finally, but doesn’t follow up. This is far too easy for Okolie.
Okolie vs Lerena - round 3
21:17 , Alex YoungLerena is told by his corner to get moving more - they must be reading this blog - but the South African doesn’t do too much to heed the advice.
Okolie is dictating this fight, hits another body shot. A very disciplined display so far.

Okolie vs Lerena - round 2
21:13 , Alex YoungLerena needs to get moving, he looks very hesitant to throw some punches, perhaps slightly overawed against his huge opponent.
Okolie ends the round with a flurry to the body. Easy street so far.
Okolie vs Lerena - first round
21:09 , Alex YoungAll the early movement is from Okolie, who sends in big hit after big hit, and he connecting well against quite a stiff Lerena.
Only one man looking to fight at the moment.
The WBC Silver heavyweight title is on the line.
Lawrence Okolie is on his way to the ring with Kendrick Lamar as his backing track.
Here comes Kevin Lerena with a ring-walk inspired somewhat by The Undertaker, I’m assuming.
A heavyweight bout between Lawrence Okolie vs Kevin Lerena is next.
We’ve got one fight left before the big’un. Main event rings walks scheduled by one hour’s time.
Lapin beats Edmondson by split decision!
20:46 , Alex YoungLapin gets it, by split decision!
The scorecards read 95-95, 96-94, 96-94. Wow, that is right.
Edmondson has to feel hard done by there, surely. A first defeat, but should walk away proud.

Lapin vs Edmondson
20:45 , Alex YoungRight, which 0 has to go?
Lapin vs Edmondson - final round
20:43 , Alex YoungLapin lands a punch flush on Edmondson’s chest as the round begins, knocking back the Englishman a few steps.
Edmondson is the busier of the two fighters, with Lapin almost waiting for his opponent to walk onto his jabs. Will it be enough?
Time for one final jab into Lapin’s face as the bell rings!
Both teams celebrate, Edmondson & Co. with more gusto. Lapin’s corner look less convinced.
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 9
20:38 , Alex YoungEdmondson takes some big gulps of air before getting off his stool and Lapin must have noticed as the Ukrainian comes storming out and peppers his opponent with a blizzard of blows.
It’s a second wind from Lapin, and he needs it as he could well be behind on the scoreboard. His best round of the fight and he lands an uppercut as the bell rings.
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 8
20:34 , Alex YoungLapin is really grimacing as he falls back over the ropes and appears to have hurt his right arm. Edmondson won’t let him rest and again the Ukrainian dangles over the ropes, which is quite a sight given his remarkable height.
Another pause, Lapin looks to his corner, but continues. He is in real trouble and Edmondson smells blood. A body shot, Lapin buckles but then returns to send the Brit doubled over.
Lapin did well to recover! Two huge rounds to come.
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 7
20:30 , Alex YoungThis fight is there to be won for either unbeaten fighters. The tempo of the bout continues to suffer with so much grappling.
Lapin tries to get a combo going but Edmondson’s guard is up before he swings with a left and misses the Ukrainian’s right cheek.
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 6
20:28 , Alex YoungEdmondson is landing plenty but the power is lacking. Lapin is hardly rocking his opponent back but is getting through the guard.
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 5
20:21 , Alex YoungHalfway and Edmondson may be edging this after another impressive round. Lapin is yet to really get going, but also looks to have plenty in the tank.
And Dubois has turned up!
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 4
20:17 , Alex YoungA big left and then a right from Edmondson leaves Lapin quickly backtracking and looking in real danger for the first time!
The Ukrainian manages to compose himself before the bell, but that is another round to the Englishman.
Usyk is shown on the big screen getting his hands wrapped. Apparently Dubois has not yet turned up...?
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 3
20:14 , Alex YoungGreat right from Edmondson to start the round, and then he follows in to push his opponent onto the ropes.
Both fighters are still trying to suss each other out, it’s all still a little bit edgy.
Edmondson finishes with a big left to Lapin’s chin.

Lapin vs Edmondson - round 2
20:09 , Alex YoungLapin is a livewire, on his toes and constantly moving. Edmondson looks to match his opponent’s speed but takes one to the face in the process.
The Ukrainian easing into this.
Lapin vs Edmondson - round 1
20:08 , Alex YoungA tentative start from both fighters, but Lapin is just towering over his opponent but struggling to find any openings. Edmondson does land a right and then a body shot.
This ring-walk song for Lapin gets full marks from me, for what it’s worth.
It’s Ukraine vs England again as light-heavyweight star Daniel Lapin defends his IBF Inter-continenta belt against the unbeaten Commonwealth champion Lewis Edmondson.
Daniel Lapin vs Lewis Edmondson, for Lapin’s IBF Inter-continental light-heavyweight title, is next.
Dacres beats Sirenko on points!
19:48 , Alex YoungUnanimous decision, Dacres wins!
Domination from start to finish.

Sirenko vs Dacres - final round
19:45 , Alex YoungDacres has not put a foot wrong here, a commanding performance from the first bell.
Sirenko’s unbeaten record has ended, and he barely put up a fight against a late replacement.
We wait for the judges for confirmation.
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 9
19:41 , Alex YoungDacres is seeing this one out, this really is some response to that first-round loss last time out.
Sirenko just has not got out of first gear, his head is still down while Dacres is alert and on his toes.
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 8
19:37 , Alex YoungFrank Bruno sits down ringside as the eighth round begins.
Finally a big left hook from Sirenko and Dacres’ gum shield flies out... but Sirenko chooses not to capitalise! He’s done Dacres a huge favour there, but the Ukrainian is at now starting to, well, box.
A feint here, and shuffle here and Dacres has a job on his hands in the final two rounds. Sirenko will be miles back on the judges’ scorecards, so it’s KO or no dice.

Sirenko vs Dacres - round 7
19:33 , Alex YoungA few more big gulps from Dacres, who still has three more rounds to see out this fight, and Sirenko is still not doing enough to make it enough of a challenge.
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 6
19:30 , Alex YoungDacres lands two big body shots and follows it up with one to the shin. Sirenko has lost all six rounds, by my count.
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 5
19:25 , Alex YoungSirenko is just lumbering around the ring and Dacres is almost toying with him. Still a long way to go, of course, but the Ukrainian is getting out-boxed here.
Unbeaten record at risk at the moment.
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 4
19:21 , Alex YoungA bit more threat from Sirenko as he lands some body shots to send Dacres back into the middle of the ring.
Dacres has slowed somewhat, a few big gulps of air needed, but still appears in control.

Sirenko vs Dacres - round 3
19:17 , Alex YoungSirenko is really struggling here, just walking into a heavy defeat at the moment with seven more rounds to go.
Dacres lands combo after combo, so he must make sure he doesn’t use up too much energy against the far heavier Ukrainian.
And then a warning from Sirenko with a big left to the side of the face!
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 2
19:13 , Alex YoungDacres has a point to prove and, well, he’s proving it so far. Quick combos time and again have Sirenko a little rocked again, and the big-hitting Ukrainian is unable to build any momentum at all.
Sirenko is a little too easy to read so far, a little too slow perhaps. That’s two rounds won for Dacres.
Sirenko vs Dacres - round 1
19:09 , Alex YoungThis is already shaping to be a proper bruising bout as both land big hits in the opening minutes, with Dacres in particular putting Sirenko off his stride.
A quick glance to his corner from the Ukrainian, but he soon shrugs off the hit.
Solomon Dacres stepped in late for this fight and was last seen losing to David Adeleye.
Sirenko is part of USYK-17 Promotions and comes with a reputation as a 30-year-old in the heavyweight division and remains unbeaten.
Here come Vladyslav Sirenko and Solomon Dacres.
Lennox Lewis is talking to DAZN and says that ‘low blow’ two years in Poland was no such thing.
Interesting.
Vladyslav Sirenko vs Solomon Dacres is next.
Canelo Alvarez predicts Usyk vs Dubois 2
18:44 , Alex Young"Oleksandr has very strong stamina; he’s very technical and smart.
"When I see someone with that kind of focus, I back them.
"That’s why I placed a big bet on his victory. Oleksandr, you do you!"
Hamed wins on points!
18:41 , Alex YoungAadam Hamed goes 6-0 after a dominant win. Perhaps a bit naive in the final round against a physically imposing opponent.
Hamed vs Gregores - round 4
18:38 , Alex YoungGregores starts to have a go in the final round, but it’s too little, too late. Hamed loses his shape a tad, his head drops a few times to invite his opponent on, but a big left and then an uppercut sees out the fourth round.
Routine win for Naseem’s son.

Hamed vs Gregores - round 3
18:35 , Alex YoungAll three rounds to Hamed so far, and Gregores has really not offered much at all yet. Plenty of quick feet from the famous son, but a whole lot of nothing from his opponent.
Gregores is trying to make this a bit of an uglier affair, plenty of binding, but it’s not impressing many.
Hamed vs Gregores - round 2
18:32 , Alex YoungReally solid right jab from Hamed sets Gregores back in the final seconds of an otherwise even, and fairly quiet, round.
Hamed vs Gregores - round 1
18:28 , Alex YoungGood start from the younger Hamed, he is quick and light on his feet and lands a few smart jabs.
Gregores does not look too fazed after three minutes, but he has not offered too much yet.
Hamed vs Gregores
18:23 , Alex YoungAadam Hamed is, of course, the son of ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed.
Hamed holds a 5-0 record, four via knockout. Gregores, at 31, offers plenty of experience. Should be a a good’un, this.
Aadam Hamed vs Ezequiel Gregores is up next.
Guruli wins by TKO!
18:12 , Alex YoungFrancis struggles to get back to his stall and the towel has been thrown as the fifth round begins.
Guruli gets the stoppage he was seeking to remain unbeaten after two. That was really eye-catching.

Guruli vs Francis - round 4
18:07 , Alex YoungGuruli wants the stoppage and is dictating the fight, immediately backing Francis back against the ropes.
Another right lands followed by some body shots as blood pours from Francis' nose.
Surely his corner have a decision to make?
Guruli vs Francis - round 3
18:03 , Alex YoungThis is brutual from Guruli and Francis may not be long for this fight. His nose is busted, his eye is cut.
These jabs, left and right, from the Georgian have splatted blood across Francis' body. We surely won't see the full six.

Guruli vs Francis - round 2
18:00 , Alex YoungGuruli is bang up for this, quick as a flash off his stool and soon lands a right and then a big left hook. He’s in a hurry at Wembley.
Francis may have already broken his nose, unable to get a handle on the unpredictable Guruli as swings wildly and misses aplenty.
More right jabs from Guruli and Francis is already right up against it.
Guruli vs Francis - round 1
17:59 , Alex YoungA fine first round from Guruli after Francis came out the blocks quickly. The Georgian soon puts his opponent on the back foot on a big right.
Francis ends the round on the ropes.
Guruli vs Francis
17:50 , Alex YoungLasha Guruli, 28, is building a reputation in the sport, the highlight being a bronze medal at last year's Olympics.
British hope Francis boasts a 7-1 record and will be a stern first test for his Georgian opponent.
So, a super-lightweight contest to kick us off.

The undercard will be starting very shortly.
Lasha Guruli vs James Francis is expected to be the first bout at Wembley.
Lennox Lewis predicts Usyk vs Dubois
17:29 , Alex Young"I’m thinking [Dubois is] ready. He’s been through the trials and tribulations.
"He’s the king slayer. He’s got the power. He’s been there before. He was just there, he knocked the guy down, so he knows what he needs to do.
“It’s not an easy task, but he’s definitely the man that can go through with it. He’s done the work. He’s gone through the pedigree.
"He’s a certified world champion and I think he has big hopes on doing it. He’s going to do it.”
What happened last time?
17:22 , Alex YoungTwo years ago in Poland, the up-and-coming Dubois came within a few inches of becoming world champions.
Dubois, making a huge step up that night as a massive underdog, felt he had been cruelly robbed of a career-defining triumph after sending Usyk to the canvas in the fifth with a wincing body shot that was ruled a low blow by referee Luis Pabon, with Usyk permitted almost four minutes to recover.
The defending champion was able to regather himself and dominate the bout thereafter as he secured knockdowns in both rounds eight and nine before proceedings were waved off, but Dubois and his camp were furious, with promoter Frank Warren seeing an appeal rejected to have the fight ruled a no contest and an immediate rematch ordered.
Usyk - who also previously held all the gold at cruiserweight - went on to become boxing’s first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000 in his next fight as he outpointed Tyson Fury in Riyadh to add the WBC belt to his collection.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 prediction
16:59 , Alex YoungThough he insists he is tired of hearing about the low-blow controversy and been eager to play down the narrative in the build-up to this rematch, there is no doubt that the events in Wroclaw two years ago still rankle with Dubois and his team - trainer Don Charles recently claimed that Usyk should have won an Oscar for “conning” the boxing world.
The Ukrainian had looked in real trouble if that punch had been ruled as legitimate - as many believe it should - and would have had to harness real powers of recovery to ride it out and avoid a first-ever professional loss in shocking fashion.
Body shots are an area that Dubois will be keen to try and exploit again at Wembley, though Usyk will be only too alert to the threat posed and respond accordingly.
The version of Dubois that dominated Joshua was ‘Dynamite’ at his destructive and vicious best, with the raw power to knock out any fighter on the planet.
He will need to hope that an opponent some 10-and-half years his senior starts slowing down at last and perhaps showing the effects of two thrilling wars with arch-rival Fury.
But where have you been in the last few years if you are still doubting Usyk at this stage? He has achieved absolutely everything in the sport from Olympic gold to two-time undisputed world champion status, which we fully expect to become three this weekend with another impressive late stoppage. Let’s say round 10.
Usyk to win by late stoppage.

Tonight's running order

Welcome
16:29 , Alex YoungGood afternoon and welcome to the London Standard’s LIVE coverage of this huge heavyweight bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.
It is less than two years since their first bout in Poland, where Usyk retained his unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring titles in August 2023 with a ninth-round stoppage victory at Wroclaw’s Tarczynski Arena that was mired in controversy. More on that shortly.
Tonight a new undisputed heavyweight championship of the world will be crowned. Can Dubois, the new king of British boxing, take the throne. We will begin to find out around 10pm.
A stacked undercard is expected to get underway in about an hour. Stick with us.
