Geiko, as geisha are known in Kyoto, and maiko, or junior geisha, take part in the final rehearsal for the Kyo Odori dance performances -- set to run from Sunday to April 16 -- in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, on Saturday. The Kyo Odori is one of four dance performances that occur in the hanamachi traditional entertainment districts to highlight the arrival of spring in Kyoto.
