'Useful signing' - West Brom fans send transfer message to Nottingham Forest

West Bromwich Albion fans have been reacting to reports that their former striker Brown Ideye is in the running for a move to Nottingham Forest.

According to reports in Greece, where Ideye spent two weeks with Olympiacos, the 31-year-old is keen to return to English football after five years away.

Ideye arrived at Albion on a three-year deal in July 2014 for around £10 million but left after only one season with only four Premier League goals to his game.

The Nigerian international did hit a purple patch following the arrival of Tony Pulis in January 2015, netting four times and assisting once in three matches but only managed another League goal after February 11.

Ideye, currently with Greek side Aris, has scored seven goals in 19 games for the top tier side.

And Albion fans have been discussing Ideye's time with Albion and what he could offer Forest.

Here's what they've had to say on social media...

Sam Wilkinson : Probably wouldn't be half bad under a manager like Bilic. Suffered from having a really tactically negative manager sadly.

Jay Antill : Better than rondon imo

Daniel Jones : Not a flop. Defo overpaid for him but would of been alright as an option.

Samuel Roberts : Good player tbh deffo not a flop

Ellinos Anorymos : I wouldn't exactly call him a 'flop'. I remember him scoring 5 or 6 goals in that season in the Premiership. I would rather use 'underachieving' given the (rather high) expectations, but not a flop. He would probably be a useful signing for a Championship club.

Glyn Rhys : another striker that suffered from Pulisball

Steve Nock : My advice to Forest is don't

Rory Reynolds : Tbh he looked like he was going to kick on after he bagged a few I remember he scored a 2/3 in like 4 games , wasn't that bad deserved another season
