USC President Folt Meets Protesters, No Agreement Reached

Students build a protest encampment in support of Palestinians at USC

University of Southern California President Carol Folt has once again engaged in discussions with protesters from the encampment on campus, but unfortunately, no agreement was reached during the meeting.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Folt mentioned that specific proposals were presented to address the protesters' concerns regarding the endowment, which they have highlighted as a key issue. Folt expressed her respect for the passion demonstrated by the protesters for their cause and acknowledged the pain and suffering experienced both within the community and in the Middle East.

However, Folt noted that the protesters appeared to be more focused on seeking a political statement in support of their viewpoint rather than working towards practical solutions to resolve the situation. This marks the second meeting between the protesters and Folt, indicating ongoing efforts to address the issues at hand.
