With Georgia in at No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings, sitting at 7-1 and in control of its destiny, the Dawgs are in prime position to make another push at the Playoffs.
Looking at the SEC as a whole, it’s pretty clear that Georgia is deserving of the No. 3 spot in USA TODAY’s SEC power rankings, which Tyler Horka released on Monday. This comes one week after he had the Dawgs at No. 4 and Florida at No. 3. Following UGA’s 24-17 win over the Gators, the two switched places in this week’s edition.
On Georgia, Horka said:
The Georgia offense might still have some issues, but that defense is pretty dang good. It showed up against Florida last week in a game that had huge SEC East complications. The Dawgs proved that they’re still the top dogs in that division.

3. Georgia
4. Florida
5. Auburn
6. Texas A&M
Two of Georgia’s next three opponents sit in the top-half of his conference power rankings, with last week’s opponent at No. 4.
Missouri, which has been spiraling the last few weeks, is at No. 11.
