USA TODAY re-ranks Ohio State football and others, but where?

Our friends at USA TODAY go through a re-ranking of all the college football teams after each week of action, and there’s always some movement. Despite some dominating performances, and the majority of the computer models and metrics pointing towards Ohio State being the best team in the country, there’s still plenty of naysayers out there.

Paul Meyerberg of USA TODAY is not one of them though in his weekly NCAA re-rank of all the FBS college football teams. What I like about the piece is that it doesn’t just keep teams like Clemson and Alabama that started at the top there absence of a loss. No, Meyerberg looks at how things have transpired during the season with an objective eye.

And after a dominating performance Saturday against Wisconsin and the nation’s No. 1 defense, Meyerberg sees no reason to move Ohio State from the No. 1 slot that he’s had them in for a few weeks now.

Right behind Ohio State is Alabama (2), Clemson (3), and LSU (4). Penn State (5), Oregon (6), Florida (7), Baylor (8), Oklahoma (9) and Georgia (10) round out the top ten re-ranking.

Here is the complete re-ranking of the top 25 on USA TODAY’s website.
