The NFL draft is only weeks away, but it’s hard to not yearn for when the players actually take the field on game day.
Last Thursday night, the New York Jets took the opportunity to reveal a complete revamping of the team’s uniforms. Social media reacted immediately to Nike’s new designs, as did Nate Davis of USA TODAY.
Inspired by the new release, Davis found the time “with little else to write about with the draft three weeks away” to rank the uniforms of all 32 NFL teams.
Seattle fans can rest easy — the Seahawks’ threads landed comfortably in the top 5, at No. 4 overall.
“Purists will doubtless disagree, but they’ve enjoyed Nike’s best redesign,” Davis writes. “The basic feathers, linkage to the fan base of ’12s’ (including the 12 inside the collar), distinctive navy and ‘Action Green’ and revised Seahawk totem all integrate seamlessly with the Pacific Northwest ethos — which Nike naturally understands.”
While the Seahawks might not have landed so high in the offseason power rankings, only the Chargers, Steelers and Raiders have Seattle’s uniforms beat.
