USA Today Power Rankings: Jets drop 2 spots following embarrassing loss to Dolphins

After suffering the most embarrassing defeat of the season against the Dolphins, the Jets dropped back in the latest USA Today Power Rankings.

New York fell two spots from No. 29 to No. 31 after losing to the Dolphins, 26-18. It was easily one of the best opportunities the Jets had to get a win this season, but they instead made a winless Dolphins team look superior. The Jets offense looked brutal again as Sam Darnold had another lackluster performance, while the defense allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick to tear them apart.

Luckily for Gang Green, they’ll play a 2-7 Giants team this week that has struggled mightily for the last five weeks. Their defense allows a lot of big plays, which could bode well for a Jets offense that has had trouble moving the football this year. Meanwhile, the Giants offense is susceptible to turning over the football.

As for the rest of the AFC East, the Patriots fell from the No. 1 spot all the way down to No. 4 after their first loss to the Ravens. The Bills moved up to No. 15 following their win over the Redskins, while the Dolphins moved from No. 32 to No. 30.

The Saints are ranked No. 1 followed by the 49ers, Ravens, Patriots and Texans.
