USA TODAY NFL power rankings still not buying the Texans

The Houston Texans still have some work to do if they care to rise in the USA TODAY NFL power rankings.

Despite blowing out the Atlanta Falcons 53-32 in Week 5 and quarterback Deshaun Watson achieving a perfect passer rating of 158.3 while throwing for five touchdowns, 426 yards, zero interceptions, and not taking a single sack, the record-setting performance was enough to lift the Texans one spot in the power rankings from No. 19 to No. 18 overall.

Only Russell Wilson playing more efficiently than Deshaun Watson (115.9 rating). That will be tested at K.C., Indy over next two weeks.

Meanwhile the Indianapolis Colts jumped 12 spots because of their 19-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday Night Football. At No. 12, the Colts are the highest-ranked team in the AFC South. The Jacksonville Jaguars dropped to No. 21 following a 34-27 loss at the Carolina Panthers, and the Tennessee Titans are right below them after sustaining a 14-7 home loss to the Buffalo Bills.
