Tornadoes caused disruption to flights in Florida as severe weather passed through the state.
Two twisters were seen in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday afternoon, local media reported.
Greg Meyer, a spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport told 10 News that one tornado touched down in the site’s north-western area at about 4.30pm.
It damaged a private jet, shut down a runway and was strong enough to blow luggage trolleys around, he said.
10 News said several dozen flights were affected.
It comes after days of inclement weather in a number of states.
There were 12 tornadoes confirmed across Kentucky, Illinois and Missouri on 3 April, with a further eight in Mississippi last week, according to US media.
A storm with winds up to 100mph left a trail of destruction in Franklin County, Ohio, on 6 April.
