US weather: Dozens of cars under water at Dallas airport after flash flooding

Dozens of cars are underwater at a Texas airport after heavy rains.

Pooled water flooded cars parked outside a terminal at the Dallas Love Field Airport on Wednesday morning.

Parts of the bottom level of Parking Garage A - the one closest to the terminal - were completely flooded. Officials estimated that more than 30 parked cars were completely underwater.

An environmental team is on the scene to asses any chemical or gas pollution from leaking cars.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area has so far received at least six inches of rain in some parts, with more rain expected throughout the evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for North Texas, as well as flood warnings for Central Texas. The warning are in effect through Wednesday night.

In South Texas, hail and damaging winds are expected. The AP reports that the Houston area is also at risk for a tornado, in addition to expected hard rain and hail.
