US voting gets a caffeine kick

As election gimmicks go, it sounded like one of the best. Starbucks offered a free cup of coffee to anyone who came into one of their shops and said they voted in the US election. Only problem is, offering such an incentive to vote prompted concern that it could violate US election laws. So Starbucks changed their offer - free cup of coffee to anyone, whether you voted or not! Which isn't quite the same thing, and doesn't quite fit in with their touchy feely ad campaign. To be filed under: "It sounded like a good idea at the time."
